Choose a Slab.

Granite Slabs

Select the exact slab(s) that will be used to produce your granite countertop. Granite is a natural material with variations in color, tone, grain and pattern. No two slabs of the same granite color are alike. From exotic blues, deep plums, pale hues of gold and beige, granite can set the mood within a space. Found within this stone's color palettes are numerous surface patterns, varying dramatically from the predictable speckled appearance to the fluid movements of heavy veins. The irregular lines present in many stones are due to mineral impurities that account for the uniqueness of each slab. There is nothing like natural granite. Each slab is made by nature.

Granite is the most popular choice for kitchen and bathroom countertops. Over 2000 varieties of granite are imported to the United States from quarries around the world.

What is Granite and where does it come from?

Granite rock

Granite is a hard and durable natural stone that is heat, acid and scratch resistant. It has the ability to stand up to high traffic and the daily abuse that a kitchen endures. Sealing granite makes it more resistant to staining from everyday spills and messes, making it an ideal countertop.

Granite is an igneous rock formed by molten rock material beneath the Earth's surface crust and as this raises, cools and undergoes tons of pressure for millions of years, it forms a crystalline granular structure. As the quartz, feldspars, micas and other minerals fuse into the rock, the granites get their beautiful array of colors and patterns. Slight irregularities are considered part of its natural characteristics. Granite's crystalline structure always has tiny spaces between the various mineral crystals. Polishing the granite makes these less visible. Sometimes there can be natural fissures in a stone. These may look like cracks but are natural as a result of heat and pressure granite undergoes during formation and is not a structural defect.
